Gov’t peace delegates arrive in Addis Ababa

The government negotiation team has arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa for the next round of peace talks scheduled to resume today.

The delegations from the SPLM-SPLA In Opposition and other stakeholders arrived at the venue of the talks earlier this week.

IGAD mediation team says the talks could not start yesterday as scheduled because members of the government’s delegation did not arrive at the venue of the negotiations on time.

“The government team arrived at the venue of the talks last night,” said Michael Minassie, Eye Radio’s Correspondent in Addis Ababa.

He says the leaders of the different stakeholders will meet with IGAD mediators separately after the official opening ceremony later in the day to discuss the agenda of the talks.
