A member of peace steering committee for Rumbek North County in Lakes State has urged both the government and the educated youth to intervene to solve issues of revenge killings in the area.

In an exclusive interview with Eye Radio, Arop Kumbai said government and the educated youth from the state have a great role to end violence in lakes state.

He said their mandate is to collect guns in a peaceful manner.

“I think two things should be done, one should be done by the government and the other one is to be done by youth, Government mandate is to collect guns in a peaceful manner. Second us the youth, specially the educated youth, we should go to the ground and talk to our brothers that all you are doing is not good.” Kumbai said.

The Peace steering committee is attending three-day conflict mitigation training organized by AECOM International South Sudan in Juba.
