Jonglei Wild Life office gets flooded, collapses

Author : | Published: Wednesday, April 1, 2015

The office of the Wildlife Service in Jonglei State has collapsed after heavy rains, injuring four people.

The state’s Deputy Director of Wildlife, Ateny Nyuon Yaach says the building might have fallen on Monday due to cracks that had developed in its walls.

He told Eye Radio that the state authorities had earlier notified the national government on the damages but they did not get any response.

“…the office of the ministry was completely destroyed; it is not an office anymore, its walls have been cracked and the winds removed all the iron sheets, and the offices are flooded with water.” He said.

Nyuon said some people have also been injured in the incident.

He called on the national government to address the matter.
