‘Lower-level leaders need to be educated about democracy’

Local leaders at the lower level need to be educated about democracy and good governance, according to the Organization for Non Violence and Development.

ONAD is training about 25 participants from political parties, youth and local government officials in Monkei, Central Equatorial State.

The three-day training workshop focuses on democracy and good governance.

“The aims of the program is, we need to analyze how democracy can work in the lower; we need to encourage them,” Paul Gerio Salomon, Governance and Civic Educational Officer for the ONAD, told Eye Radio.

Mr. Paul says there is a need to share experience about democracy between the lower and the national level.

ONAD says it will conduct more training workshop in Kator and other payams in Central Equatoria State and at the national level
