Lakes State Security Advisor says forces have been directed to conduct night patrols in Rumbek town to reduce killings.

Marial Amuom says the orders were given after the state council of ministers met to discuss the increasing insecurity in the area.

He warned people against moving in the night to avoid interference of the patrols.

“We are going to intensify the night patrolling that will begin from 8:00pm in the evening to 7:00am in the morning. This is in regards to the observation of the security apparatus about the random coming of youth to the town whether they come without guns or guns.” Amum said.

He says only those with emergency cases will be allowed to move at night.
