Ateny Wek Ateny -Presidential Press Secretary.

The office of the president has alleged that the Chief Negotiator of the SPLM-SPLA In Opposition is in Heglig planning attacks on oil fields in Unity State.

The Press Secretary in the office of the President, Ateny Wek Ateny, says the presence of Chief Negotiator, General Taban Deng Gai, in Heglig has led to the delay of the seventh round of   peace talks in Addis Ababa.

Mr. Ateny did not provide evidence that General Taban Deng Gai is in Heglij.

He says this is a security matter and he was not in position to provide further details.

‘‘The rebels are still mustering their forces to launch fresh attacks on our positions as negotiators are under instruction from President Salva Kiir to stay in Addis for the talk. The rebel Chief Negotiator is in Heglij busy planning for more attacks on oil fields. We are searching for peace, but the rebels are searching for war.” The Presidential Press Secretary said.

There were no comments from the SPLM-SPLA in Opposition regarding this statement.
