The Lakes state Information Minister says the road connecting Rumbek to Juba is in a bad condition.

Dhieu Wal says the state of the road will even worsen during the rainy season.

“The state of the roads is so bad, especially between here to Yirol, Yirol to Awerial, Awerial to Terkeka going to Juba. It is so bad. These are the main roads that people rely on that bring supplies to the state.” He said.

He says the state government is working with its partners to improve the standards of the roads.

He told Eye Radio that the state government is now planning to stock basic items before the rainy season begins.

HE said: “…we were having preparations to bring things like fuel and food items to be brought in to the state before the rainy season.”
