The Minister of Youth and Sport in Central Equatoria State, David Lokonga, says his ministry has recovered 7 playing grounds out of 15 which were grabbed by some individuals.

Since the signing of the CPA and the formation of the regional Government of Southern Sudan in 2005, Juba has been experiencing what has been called “land grabbing.”

Powerful individuals seize land for commercial purposes or for investment.

Mister Lokonga said that next week the ministry will register all the playing grounds that are designated as sports and recreation facilities in Juba Town.
