South Sudan has accused Sudan’s army of launching two separate attacks near the disputed border area.

Four SPLA soldiers and two civilians were reportedly wounded in the attack on military positions in Unity and Upper Nile states.

The spokesperson of SPLA General Philip Aguer told Eye Radio that after the surprise attack, the injured were taken to hospital.

“SPLA base was bombed by two MIGS and the bombing was a surprise to all in the area and in the same incident,” said Col Aguer.

“Machar and Gakbar areas in Renk were also attacked by ground forces. All of these happened at the same day of Jau.”

Col Aguer said the wounded people are still undergoing treatment at Bentiu hospital.

Attempts to reach SAF for comment were unsuccessful.
