Central Equatoria governor urges Morobo community to engage holdout groups
The caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, General Augustino Jadalla Wani, has urged the Morobo Community to engage holdout groups and encourage them to embrace peace.
According to a statement from the Office of the Governor, Jadalla made the call during a meeting with Morobo community leaders in Juba on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The community, led by its Secretary-General, Ayume Charles, pledged support for the governor’s administration while raising concerns over insecurity, poor roads and inadequate education and health facilities.
The community also expressed support for free, fair and credible elections.
In response, Governor Jadalla pledged to refer the concerns to the relevant authorities and urged residents to promote agriculture through cooperative initiatives to improve food security.
He also promised to mobilise food and non-food items for internally displaced people affected by the recent crisis in Morobo County.
The meeting aimed to strengthen trust between grassroots communities and the state leadership as Central Equatoria prepares for the anticipated elections.
The governor emphasised the importance of addressing community concerns and linking peace efforts with development and humanitarian assistance to promote social cohesion and a peaceful electoral environment.
