Juba caretaker commissioner Kalisto Ladu inspects wholesale shops

• • 1 min read

The Caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Kalisto Lado, has conducted an inspection and crackdown on wholesale shops at Kuburi Haboba Gudule Market following the discovery of expired flour being repackaged for resale in Juba two weeks ago.

During the latest operation, a wholesale shop at Kuburi Haboba Gudule Market was reportedly found selling expired and repackaged goods, allegedly supplied by major stores in Gumbo.

According to a statement published on the Office of the Commissioner’s Facebook page, county authorities, in collaboration with security organs, will continue conducting operations targeting illegal activities across markets in Juba County.

Commissioner Lado warned traders against selling expired products or engaging in the illegal repackaging of goods, stressing that protecting public health and safety remains a top priority.

The latest inspection follows the earlier arrest of eight individuals who were allegedly caught repackaging expired flour for resale at a general trading company in Gumbo.
