JUBA — The SPLM First Deputy Chairman and Vice President of the Republic, Prof. James Wani Igga, on Saturday called for dialogue among members of the party and with members of other political parties for the well-being of the country.

Dr. James Wani made the call after officiating the launch of the SPLM Membership Registration for the Greater Juba Blocks at Medan Zahra in Juba.

Held under the theme “Strengthening the Party Through Unity, Registration, and Active Membership,” the launch aims to encourage party members in the Greater Juba Blocks to register and participate in party activities ahead of general elections.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Igga warned citizens and leaders against engaging in propaganda and lies, encouraging them to focus on peace and on delivering services to the people instead of dwelling on lies and division.

He called on youth and women to register in numbers to help the party prepare for the general elections.

Prof. Igga encouraged SPLM members to remain active, disciplined, and focused on the vision and principles of the party at all times. He noted that because members come from different backgrounds and walks of life, unity of purpose is necessary for the success of the party nationwide.

The registration exercise is being conducted to establish the exact number of SPLM members in the country and prepare the party for general elections.

The Greater Juba Blocks—namely Munuki, Kator, and Juba—constitute Juba City, the capital of South Sudan.

The event was organized by the Greater Juba Blocks leadership and attended by senior SPLM members from Central Equatoria State and the SPLM National Secretariat.
