Attack on Juba-Nimule road

Author : | Published: Thursday, December 15, 2016

An eyewitness says a public service vehicle destined for Nimule was attacked by gunmen along the Juba-Nimule Highway this morning.

Details are still scanty; however, Eye Radio’s Jacob Achiek, who was on his way to Juba, said the bus belonging to Bonga Bus Company fell into an ambush a couple of kilometers from Obama Village.

“As I’m talking to you now, I’m hearing sound of gunshots close to Obama. I’m seeing more than 100 armed soldiers now,” Achiek reported.

The police department is yet to comment on the matter.

There have been reports of deadly attack on travelers since around august this year. In most incidents, passengers were killed and buses set ablaze.
