El Merriekh Bentiu face Egyptian Pyramids FC in CAF Champions League

El Merriekh SC Bentiu will face Egyptian side Pyramids FC at Juba National Stadium this afternoon in the second preliminary round of the 2026-2027 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM Central Africa Time (CAT), with the South Sudanese side hoping to use home advantage and local support to secure a positive result.

The Bentiu-based club faces a tough challenge against Pyramids FC as both teams seek to strengthen their chances of advancing to the next round of Africa’s premier club competition.

El Merriekh will need strong defensive organisation, tactical discipline and effective finishing to compete against the Egyptian side.

The match also offers the South Sudanese club an opportunity to gain continental experience and raise the profile of local football.

A positive result in Juba could put El Merriekh in a better position ahead of the return fixture as the team seeks to progress in the competition.
