Go Green announces data collection exercise on solid waste in Juba

The East Africa Go Green Company announced it will collect data on the solid waste system in Juba city next week.

The company managing director, Goaner Timothy made the announcement during a press conference in Juba on Tuesday.

He says a data collection team will conduct questionnaires assessment in the residential areas.

This, he says, is in a bid to classify the city’s residential properties in order to determine the flow of waste across the city.

Goaner Timothy, the Managing Director of the company, told media on Tuesday in Juba that the company will conduct a door-to-door data collection exercise next week.

“This data collection will go to people’s homes. We will have forms with about forty questionnaires most of them are yes or no, and with that we will be data driven in everything we try to do,” Timothy said.

“This is because there is information that can be obtained only if we go door to door to every property in Juba here. For example, now we want to classify the properties of Juba. We want to have four classifications.”

According to Timothy, the company has purchased 24 garbage trucks and other waste collection materials.

It is also planning to construct public toilets and washrooms in different areas across the city.

East Africa Go Green is a locally owned private company that signed a ten years agreement with the City Council last year.

It operated South Sudan based an integrated solid waste, liquid waste management and an integrated pest control, prevention and management company.

The company was established in 2021 as a result of a merger between Nile Cross International General Trading Ltd and Simon General Trading Ltd.
