Governor Lobong appoints caretaker commissioners, administrators and mayors

The Eastern Equatoria State caretaker government on Thursday swore in seven county commissioners, five administrative-area administrators and two municipal mayors to assume their respective responsibilities across the state.

The newly appointed officials will serve during the caretaker period, which is expected to run until December 2026.

The officials sworn in include:

Caretaker County Commissioners

  • Eddy William Ponsiano — Torit County

  • Urupi David Uywek — Lafon County

  • Onyu Dominic Paul — Ikwoto County

  • Lam Francis Gabriel — Magwi County

  • Emilio Lomilo Longereja — Budi County

  • David Naye Lomor — Kapoeta North County

  • Isaack Lomuria Barnabas — Kapoeta East County

Caretaker Administrative-Area Administrators

  • Lopeyok Augustine Jervas — Ngauro Administrative Area

  • Lotede John Remijio — Kimotong Administrative Area

  • Lohuyoro Peter Unyang — Kidiopo Administrative Area

  • Abraham Nyeta Natabo — Kasengor Administrative Area

  • Lomanat Joseph Kevin — Kauto Administrative Area

Municipal Mayors

  • Lotede Abraham Lomuria — Kapoeta Municipal Council

  • Eddy William Ponsiano — Torit Municipal Council

The state government said caretaker officials for Kapoeta South County, Imehejek Administrative Area and Nimule Municipality are yet to be appointed.

The newly sworn-in officials are expected to take up their duties immediately and oversee the administration of their respective counties, administrative areas and municipalities during the caretaker period.
