The caretaker Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal, Sharif Daniel Sharif, has appointed seven state ministers and three county commissioners as part of the formation of the caretaker government.

The appointments follow a decree issued by President Salva Kiir on Tuesday, authorizing caretaker governors to appoint caretaker state ministers and county commissioners.

Governor Sharif announced the appointments online yesterday.

The newly appointed officials are expected to oversee government operations during the caretaker period.

The seven ministers are Julio Valerio Osman, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment; Anyar Anyar Dor, Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement; and Omer Ishaq Mohamed, Minister of Information and Communication.

Others are Joseph Moses Ugodu, Minister of Health; Rodolfo Andrea Ujika, Minister of General Education and Instruction; Julio Bensancio Mangu, Minister of Roads, Bridges and Physical Infrastructure; and Treza Stephen Uding, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

Governor Sharif also appointed three caretaker county commissioners.

They are Joseph Daniel Dongo for Wau County, Santino Manut Akec for Jur River County, and Jino Joseph Lino for Raja County.

The newly appointed officials are expected to work with state authorities, local communities, traditional leaders and other stakeholders to promote peace, stability, development and effective governance across Western Bahr el Ghazal.

The appointments are part of the establishment of caretaker administrations following the dissolution of the Transitional Government.

The caretaker state government will continue to oversee public administration during the current political and electoral period.
