Man killed in ambush near Agok in Abyei Administrative Area
A man believed to be between 38 and 40 years old has been killed in an ambush by unknown gunmen near Wau-Ushin, along the road to Agok in the Abyei Administrative Area.
The incident happened on Saturday morning as the man was traveling by boda-boda towards Agok.
Speaking to Eye Radio, Abyei Administrative Area Information Minister Hon. Yohana Akol said the victim was attacked by four unidentified gunmen near Wau-Ushin, an area close to Agok town.
He said the attackers killed the boda-boda rider, took his bag, and left behind his motorcycle and body.
“On Saturday, the 25th, around 10 a.m., a young man who was riding a boda-boda and heading towards Agok reached a place called Wau-Ushin, near Agok city. He immediately fell into an ambush by unknown gunmen, who were four in number. They killed the boda-boda rider and took his bag, leaving behind his motorcycle and body,” Akol said.
Minister Akol condemned the killing and called on security authorities to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
