Three arrested in separate cases of murder in Yambio

Authorities in Western Equatoria state have apprehended three suspects in connection with the murder of some residents in Yambio.

On July 20, 52-year-old, Sandelina Christine was killed allegedly by her in-law.

Her body was found 14 days later at Ndavuro, an area about 5 kilometers north of Yambio town.

Another victim identified as 28-year-old Atoma Justin was also killed by his friend on July 19th.

His body was found dumped at Nakpangau River in Yambio town.

The State Police Commissioner, James Monday could not reveal the identities of the killers.

“On the 20th August, a woman called Sandelina Christine – 52 years was killed by her in-law. Our CID managed after 14 days to arrest him and he took the CID to the scene of the crime, they dug the ground and found the grave there and he is now in custody,” said Yambio State Police Commissioner.

“Again on the 19th of July, a young man called Atoma Justin, 28 years old was killed by his friend and his body was thrown into Nakpangau river. After two days, our CID succeeded in arresting him and he is now in custody awaiting trial by the court of law.”

He also disclosed that the third suspect was arrested for the killing of 18-year-old Wani William in Mvolo County last month.

James Monday added that the three suspects are expected to be arraigned in court soon.
