UNFPA: GBV survivor services expand across South Sudan
The United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, says access to services for survivors of gender-based violence has expanded across South Sudan.
In its 2025 Annual Report released on Monday, UNFPA says 13 GBV One-Stop Centres were operating in hospitals across the country during the year.
The centres provided survivors with medical care, psychosocial support and legal services under one roof.
According to UNFPA, the centres assisted 5,148 women and girls affected by gender-based violence in 2025.
The organisation says the expansion of integrated services is intended to ensure survivors receive timely support while reducing barriers to medical, psychological and legal assistance.
UNFPA also reports that safe houses in Juba and Wau provided secure accommodation to 197 survivors during the year.
The agency says strengthening GBV response services remains a priority as South Sudan continues to face conflict, displacement and other humanitarian challenges that can increase risks for women and girls.
