A chief has been arrested in connection with the killing of ten young men in Wonduruba Payam of Juba County last month, an official has said.

Two other suspects have also been taken into custody in Juba.

County Commissioner Jacob Gore told Eye Radio that the chief is not suspected of participating in the killing of the youths.

“We brought him here because, without him, we will not get the criminals; he knew those people by name and that is why we brought him here,” said Commissioner Gore.

Commissioner Jacob Gore called on the public to help the authorities identify those responsible for the killing.

Two weeks ago, police said ten young men were killed by armed cattle raiders in Wonduruba Payam.

They believe they were killed in separate incidents as they hunted in the area.
