The Ministerial High-Level Committee on Economic Reform has commended the South Sudan Revenue Authority for improved revenue collection.

The committee, chaired by East African Community Affairs Minister General Pieng Deng Kuol, met to review the implementation of resolutions from its previous meeting and assess the performance of the revenue authority.

SSRA Commissioner General Ambassador Muon Deng Ajuet presented the authority’s revenue performance, including achievements, challenges and recommendations.

Committee Rapporteur and Water Resources and Irrigation Minister James Mawich Makuach said a subcommittee had been formed to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting.

He said the committee also approved the allocation of five percent to revenue-collecting agencies.

“The committee passed the resolution of the last meeting. The committee also listened to the presentation from Honorable Muon Deng Ajuet, the Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority. The presentation centered on the performance of the revenue collection. And also in the presentation, there are achievements, challenges, and also recommendations.”

Mawich said the committee congratulated the SSRA Commissioner General on the authority’s revenue collection performance.

“The committee congratulated the Honorable for this very comprehensive presentation on the performance.”

Eye Radio has previously reported that SSRA’s monthly non-oil revenue collections increased from about 648-thousand US dollars in 2020 to around 28-million US dollars in 2025.

In March,  that the SSRA had set a target of collecting 160 billion South Sudanese pounds monthly for the remaining four months of the 2025–2026 financial year.

The committee said the latest resolutions are intended to further strengthen revenue collection and support agencies responsible for generating government revenue.
