The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has been sworn in as Chairman of the SPLM party in the state.
Adil returns to the party’s top leadership following his appointment as governor in November.
The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by Vice President and SPLM First Deputy Chairman, Dr. James Wani Igga, at the SPLM National Secretariat yesterday.
In his message, Vice President Igga urged Governor Adil to prioritize agricultural activities and the construction of roads linking Juba to productive counties across the state.
He also called on the governor to find amicable solutions to cattle raiding, tackle illiteracy, and combat gender-based violence in Central Equatoria State.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Adil pledged to work closely with party structures, leagues, and grassroots members to strengthen peace, uphold discipline, promote unity, and advance democratic values in the state.
