MoU to extend power supply in Juba signed

The Ministry of Electricity has signed an agreement of $26 million with the African Development Bank to extend the supply of electricity in Juba.

The Director General in the ministry, Beck Deng, says about 20,000 people are set to benefit from the project.

He says the whole of Juba city will have electricity in the next two years.

“There will be improvement in schools if we were have electricity –  longer time of study, computer will work, business persons; their food in market will not get spoiled, hospitals and even crimes there will be no more,” she stated.

The African Development Bank will provide 95% of the funds for the electricity project.
