Nation budget: Health and education get low funding

The national legislature has approved a budget of more than 10 billion pounds for the financial year 2015-2016.

Much of it goes for salaries and operating costs.

More than 5.5 billio pounds has been allocated to salaries and operation costs.

According to sectors, security gets the biggest share of more than 4.5 billion pounds, rule of law at 1.5 billion and transfers to states, counties and Abyei administration at one billion.

The service sector is among the areas of relatively low funding. More than 676 million has been allocated to education while the health sector gets 316 million.

Almost 185 million pounds have been allocated to the infrastructural sector, with 88 million for roads and bridges and 33 million for transport.
