An SPLA soldier has been found dead at a military base near Yei town, local authorities have said.

The unnamed victim was among soldiers who were sent from Juba to monitor the security situation in Yei river state.

“We’ve arrested and put the suspect under custody and investigation is going on to find out the motive of the killing,” Captain Garang Macok, the Director for Criminal Investigation Department.

The identity of the suspect is unclear.

Capt Garang says the security situation at the military base has returned to normal after the incident.

But he said traffic flow was interrupted along the Yei-Mahad road after the killing yesterday.
