SPLA to fight Yau Yau

Author : | Published: Thursday, May 2, 2013

The SPLA says it will continue defending citizens from any danger, which threatens them. Last week President Salva Kiir renewed his decree of pardoning those who have taken up arms against the government. Three generals responded to the amnesty and returned to Unity State with nearly one thousand soldiers -with heavy ammunitions.

So far, David Yau Yau has not responded officially to the call to lay down arms. Over the weekend, the army accused Yau Yau’s soldiers of launching new attacks on SPLA bases in Pibor County.

The SPLA spokesperson Colonel Philip Aguer told Eye Radio that the army has no any other option than to fight Yau Yau. Colonel Aguer confirmed that Bapiny Monytuil, Gordon Kong and their forces are with the SPLA currently in Bentiu. The two leaders, who head South Sudan Liberation Army, are expected to arrive in Juba to discuss the process of reorganization and reintegration with the army general command.
