Terekeka-Juba peace conference postponed

• • 1 min read

The peace conference between Juba and Terekeka counties has been postponed for a week.

It was scheduled for today but authorities want more time to consult with the communities.

Farmers and cattle keepers in the two counties have been fighting in recent months over farmlands and grazing pastures.

Minister of Information in Central Equatoria State, Suba Samuel, says the conference will make a roadmap for reconciliation among the two communities.

“I am very sure that the resolution that will come out will lead to recommendations for both parties in Juba and Terekeka. And also for the government so that the farmers and cattle keepers in different areas of Central Equatoria will have to know his work and to not enter in the livelihood of others,” Mr Samuel.

Mr Samuel says the government will ensure that the resolutions that will be made at the conference are implemented.
