Three killed while fishing in Mvolo County

“On 12 September 2026, three people were killed in Lessi Payam. Two of the deceased are suspected to have come from the Tali side,” Commissioner Brown said.
He identified the deceased as 43-year-old Wilson Khamis, his 22-year-old son, Yaba Khamis, and 55-year-old Albino Jambo, a chief from Dari Payam in Mvolo County.
“They went to the riverside to catch fish when these people found them there and killed them,” Brown said.
The commissioner said that upon receiving reports of the incident, he visited the area to assess the situation.
He added that he contacted the Commissioner of Terekeka County because two of the deceased are suspected to be residents of Tali Payam in Terekeka County.
“I contacted the Commissioner of Terekeka this morning, and we are working on the issue,” Brown said.
Brown said security authorities in the area are investigating the incident.
The county official spoke to Eye Radio on the morning of 14 September.
