President Salva Kiir on Monday praised stable security in Western Bahr el Ghazal State after receiving a briefing from Governor Sheriff Daniel Sheriff at the state house.
According to a statement published by the Office of the President on Monday evening, Governor Sheriff briefed the President on the general situation in the state, covering security, governance, and the humanitarian situation.
Governor Sheriff told the President that the state is stable, noting that security conditions have considerably improved.
He said political governance in the region is progressing, highlighting that all political parties are working together to serve the people.
The Governor also updated the President on the humanitarian situation, particularly the high number of refugees who have crossed from the Central African Republic and Sudan.
President Kiir appreciated the efforts made by the state in maintaining peace and stability despite challenges arising from displacement and humanitarian concerns.
