Central Equatoria State Caretaker Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani and Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) have pledged to strengthen cooperation in humanitarian and development activities across the state.

The commitment was made during a meeting in Juba on Wednesday between Governor Jadalla and an NPA delegation led by its Interim Country Director, Senada Katiriman.

According to a statement from the Governor’s Office, the discussions focused on NPA’s ongoing activities in the state and opportunities to expand its support to local communities.

Katiriman briefed the governor on NPA’s activities, including health services, mine action, capacity building and food security programmes.

She reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to working with the state government and commended Governor Jadalla’s administration for facilitating humanitarian access.

For his part, Governor Jadalla commended NPA’s contribution to communities in Central Equatoria and South Sudan at large.

He called for expanded cooperation and a wider scope of the organisation’s activities in the state.

The meeting comes ahead of NPA’s 40th anniversary celebrations in South Sudan.

The organisation began operating in the country in 1986 and supports communities through mine action, health, food security and humanitarian assistance.
