CES orders closure of 3 gas stations in Juba
The government of Central Equatoria state has ordered the closure of three petrol stations in Juba.
According to the local order by the state governor, the petrol stations have not meet registration requirements.
CES Minister of Information Suba Samuel told Eye Radio that the order was issued with recommendations from the Sight-Committee which approves establishment of petrol stations in Juba.
“One is African Oil Company Limited situated in Munuki -Suk Melisha road, Capital Oil Petrol station situated on Yei – Jebel road, and some SAT General Trading Limited on Yei – Jebel road also,” said Mr. Suba.
“So, these are the stations that need to be decommissioned.”
What are requirements for establishing a petrol station?
“One of course is the issue that some of these petrol stations should not be close to each other,” he explained.
“Two, it should not be within public installation, and also should not be close to an area that can easily cause hazards to life, and perhaps other things to do with licensing and some important document that are needed.”
Mister Suba said that the petrol stations in breach of the requirements were closed down immediately.
