New computerized mechanism for food distribution to IDPs
An international relief and development organization is to introduce a new system for distributing food to the Internally Displaced Persons in Warrap State.
World Vision says it will use mobile phones and computers instead of relying on names written on paper and finger prints for identifying the I-D-P-s.
The organization says they expect the new computerized system to be operational by the end of this month.
Twenty-three participants have received training in Malualkon on the new mobile food distribution system.
Garang Aleu, is an official working with the World Vision. He says the new system will be more efficient and will ensure greater accountability when distributing food to the IDPs.
He says details and profiles of beneficiaries will be entered in to mobile phones, which are link to the computers.
Mr. Garang says the method is very easy and fast.
The Deputy Secretary of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Aweil South, Lual Lual says the new system is good, but it is important that all those who distribute food receive computer training.
