UN concerned about ongoing rights violations in SS

Author : | Published: Thursday, March 26, 2015

The UN says it is concerned about the ongoing human rights violations in South Sudan.

In a statement, the Human Rights Council says Australia and 44 European countries have condemned lack of political leadership in solving the crisis.

The council urged the African Union to urgently to address the human right situation in the country.

In March 2014, the AU formed a commission of inquiry into the South Sudan conflict.

The Human Rights Council says now that the Commission has completed its work, it should release the report to break a cycle of impunity.
