The Democratic Change Party has accepted the resignation of Dr Lam Akol Ajawin as their chairman and terminated his membership.

Last week, Dr Lam Akol resigned from all his leadership positions in the country, including the chairmanship of his party and the ministerial portfolio.

Dr Lam said he would continue pursuing his opposition to the government outside Juba.

“The national executive committee agreed, Mr. Donald Gideon, the Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Change Party to be the Acting Chairman of the party,” said Deng Bior Deng, the Secretary General of the DC party, reading a statement on the resolution of the party members on the 3rd August.

Senior members of the DC party say that they will soon nominate a replacement of Dr Lam Akol to the National Alliance and to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
