First Lady Mary Ayen visits Aweil for first time in years

First Lady Mary Ayen Mayardit has arrived in Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, in her first visit to the state in several years.

The First Lady landed at Aweil Airstrip on Thursday morning, where she was received by senior state officials and residents.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Governor Charles Madut Akol, accompanied by state advisors, ministers, county commissioners, and other government officials, welcomed the First Lady upon her arrival.

Hundreds of residents, including elders, youth, women, and children, gathered at the airstrip to welcome her and express support for her visit.

Following her arrival in Aweil, the First Lady was expected to continue her journey to Akon in Warrap State for further engagements.
