UN in Jonglei

Author : | Published: Wednesday, May 8, 2013

The United Nations says it has positioned humanitarian supplies in key areas in Jonglei State ahead of the rainy season. The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan, Toby Lanzer, told Eye Radio that  the the UN is trying to get into contact with different  communities to see what their needs are and meet them.

Mister Lanzer added that the assistance will also benefit some 23,000 civilians in Akobo County who are in dire need of food. Mr. Lanzer said that the UN would also like to supply items such as tools and seeds, which he says can help people meet their own food security in the longer term.
