Juba Airport expands aircraft parking with new apron

The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority has acquired a new apron at Juba International Airport to expand aircraft parking capacity and support growing airport operations.

According to a statement from the aviation authority, the apron will expand parking space for aircraft and support the growth of operations at the country’s main international airport.

Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Dr Ayiei Garang Deng, said the new facility will also provide security support to UNMISS engineering teams working on ongoing infrastructure projects at the airport.

The apron was handed over to the aviation regulator by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan during a ceremony today.

The authority says the facility is expected to improve infrastructure at Juba International Airport and support efforts to meet international aviation standards.
