“No concrete, no business” – Kalisto orders Kubri Haboba traders to build permanent shops

• • 1 min read

The Caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Kalisto Lado, has ordered traders at Kubri Haboba Market to replace shops made of iron sheets with concrete structures within seven days.

Lado says the move is aimed at improving the development of the plots where the businesses operate.

“If they want to do business, they must build with concrete within seven days. No concrete, no business. They must follow the law; a store or business built with iron sheets is not allowed,” he asserted during an inspection of Kubri Haboba Market.

The commissioner also warned that shops made of iron sheets could allow fires to spread quickly in the event of an outbreak.

“Those doing business on plots rented from South Sudanese do not leave any development behind. These iron-sheet structures are what cause fires in the market. Any foreigner who wants to do business must build a concrete structure so that the South Sudanese who own the plots can also benefit,” he said.

Lado says shops made of iron sheets will no longer be permitted in Juba County and urged investors to construct permanent buildings.
