The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology says it has formed a committee to go to the neighboring countries to acquire more ideas on students’ welfare funds.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Bol Makueng, says the students’ fund will be supported by business people and employers.

He says the money will be used to improve the quality of higher education in South Sudan.

“This committee will go to four countries: Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt and also Kenya to find out how the students’ welfare fund is being managed and then we will take good ideas from those countries and we will integrate them into our policy,” said Mr Makueng.

He said this money will be used to build more lecture halls, recruiting more lectures, construction of laboratories, and training more lecturers.
