SSPDF Spokesperson reports thirteen killed in Wunkur clashes

JUBA — The South Sudan People’s Defence Forces report that its position in Wunkur was attacked on October 3 and 4, 2026. The military states that SPLA-IO fighters carried out the assaults.

According to the statement signed by Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, thirteen attackers were killed and one wounded combatant was captured. The military reports that the prisoner will be flown to Juba for medical treatment and investigation.

Four weapons were recovered from the scene, including one PKM machine gun, one RPG-7 launcher, and two AKM-47 rifles.
