Women harassed by police

Author : | Published: Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Residents of Khor Romla have complained that there are armed men posing as police officers harassing women on their dress code in the stream along Juba – Kajo-Keji road. One resident who called Eye Radio’s Dawn Program said the armed men were rounding up girls for putting on tied clothes and short dresses or mini-skirts.

However, the police spokesperson Colonel James Monday said that there is no order from the police headquarters to arrest women because of their dress code. Colonel Monday warned police officers against harassing citizens. He said any police officers accused of misconduct will be brought before the police court in Bulluk.
