Juba Mayor suspends brokers union activities, orders closure of all offices

The Mayor of Juba City Council has issued a local order suspending the activities of the Brokers Union and ordering the closure of all its offices within Juba City Council.

According to the order, effective 21 October 2026, all Brokers Union activities are suspended, and all its offices are to remain closed.

Juba Mayor Christopher Serefino Wani said any violation of the order would attract punitive measures in accordance with the Juba City Council by-laws, the Penal Code, the Criminal Procedure Act, and other applicable laws of the Republic of South Sudan.

He also directed all Juba City Council block and quarter council authorities, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and other relevant institutions, to ensure the effective implementation of the local order.

Brokers Union operates as body representing trade intermediaries, Real estate and market brokers.
