Kiir removes, appoints officials in Western Bahr el Ghazal

President Salva Kiir has reshuffled the government of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, removing several ministers, advisers and county commissioners from office.

The changes were announced in a statement issued by the office of Governor Sharif Daniel Sharif.

According to the governor’s office, the dismissals and appointments were initially announced on August 10.

Among those removed from office are Peter Marko Achor, former Advisor on Peace and Security; Samuel Nicola Cornelio, former Minister of Information and Communication; and Valentino Akech Akuar, former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.

Francis Michael Hassan was also dismissed as Minister of Health, while Adison Arkangelo Musa was removed as Commissioner of Raja County.

Thomas Mangu Julu has been appointed as the new Advisor on Peace and Security.

Ayiman Mohamed Ibrahim is the new Minister of Information and Communication, while Asunta Zacharia Aliu has been appointed Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.

Neckson Paulino Racin has been appointed Minister of Health.

Lidia Joseph Ukel has also been appointed to the HIV/AIDS Commission, replacing the late Angelo Atoko Deng.

For Raja County, Jino Joseph Lino has been appointed as the new Commissioner.
