Minister Bush engages Juba hotels, companies over local job opportunities

The Central Equatoria State Minister of Youth and Sports, Bush Buse, says the ministry is engaging hotels and companies operating in Juba to ensure that South Sudanese citizens are given priority in employment opportunities.

According to Bush Buse, the ministry is working in collaboration with Juba City Council authorities and other government officials to ensure that local citizens are allocated a fair percentage of available jobs in the private sector.

“We are also working closely with the Mayor of Juba City Council to engage these hotels and companies operating here in Juba, as well as commissioners and ministers, to ensure that South Sudanese are prioritized by a certain percentage when it comes to jobs. But what is important is also youth capacity development so that they will be able to compete in the employment market.”

However, the minister emphasized that while these efforts aim to increase job opportunities for South Sudanese, there is also a need to strengthen youth capacity development so that young people can effectively compete in the labor market.
