Mvolo commissioner finally takes up post after five-month delay

The Commissioner of Mvolo County in Western Equatoria State, Isaac Sebit Brown, has finally travelled to the county to assume his duties, five months after his appointment.

Brown was received by community members upon his arrival. He was accompanied by the State Minister of Local Government, Abel Sudani.

Brown was appointed commissioner in March but remained in the state capital, Yambio, awaiting clearance to travel to Mvolo.

He had earlier complained that delays in government procedures had prevented him from reporting to his duty station.

Responding to the complaint, State Minister of Information and Communication Mohamed Juma Bistin said the delay in deploying newly appointed county commissioners was caused by logistical challenges.

He said some of the affected commissioners were being facilitated to return to their respective counties.

Commissioner Brown is expected to engage with residents of Mvolo County and strengthen cooperation between the county administration and local communities.
