NSS dismisses ‘concocted’ audio defaming DG

The National Security Service is calling on the public to refrain from engaging in and circulating what it terms as a concocted audio pitching the Director General against President Salva Kiir.

The Internal Security Bureau at the National Security Service said it has learned with dismay about an audio recording purporting to depict that the Director General intends to harm the Head of State.

It says the purported audio being circulated on WhatsApp platforms alleged that the Director General hired a spear master to wish harm against the President.

“The Public is hereby informed that the Director General is not in the Country and has no knowledge of such evil acts directed at harming the person of the President, his reputation, and integrity,” the statement read.

The security service describes the perpetrators as adversaries with the intent to create a rift between the Director General and the president.

In a press statement on Monday, NSS warns the public against engaging in what it terms propaganda against the President and the Director General. It added that any violator will face the might of the law.

“The service will leave no stone unturned in its pursuit of justice, and we will ensure that those responsible for spreading harmful propaganda are held accountable for their actions,” it said.

The NSS further said it is conducting its own thorough investigation and called on the general public to cooperate with an investigation team and that they shall be informed in due course.
