Interior minister urges professionalism among police at Nimule border

The Minister of Interior has called on police personnel deployed at the Nimule border to uphold professionalism, respect the principles of policing, and remain committed to protecting the public.

Interior Minister Aleu, who also serves on the Presidential High-Level Ministerial Committee on Economic Reform, made the call during a visit to the border on Wednesday to assess the welfare of officers and the security situation.

During the visit, Minister Aleu emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of residents in Nimule, securing passengers travelling along the Juba-Nimule Highway, and safeguarding the country’s border.

General Aleu also reiterated that the government is committed to strengthening security along the South Sudan-Uganda border to ensure the safe movement of people and goods.

The visit is part of ongoing government efforts to improve border security and strengthen police operations along one of the country’s busiest trade and transport corridors.
