Juba City Council orders residents to dispose of waste between 7 and 9 PM

Juba City Council has directed shop owners, business operators and residents to dispose of their waste at designated collection points between seven and nine o’clock every evening.

The directive was issued yesterday by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Environment and Waste Management under the direction of Juba City Mayor Christopher Sawaka.
According to the announcement, businesses operating along roads and in markets must clean their premises and properly collect and package waste.
They have also been warned against dumping waste in drainage channels, streets or other unauthorized areas.
Juba City Council says anyone found dumping waste in the middle of the road or after the designated disposal time will be arrested and taken to court.
The council says such actions violate the Mayor’s Order and Juba City Council bylaws.
It is urging residents and business operators to cooperate with waste collection teams as part of efforts to keep Juba clean, healthy and environmentally safe.
The council says keeping the city clean is a shared responsibility.
